Thomas Matthew DeLonge, Jr. (born December 13, 1975) is an American musician, best known as the founding member of, and guitarist/vocalist in, bands Blink-182, Box Car Racer, and Angels and Airwaves.
* Tom was known to play Fender guitars until the time of the album Blink-182, in which he began using a Gibson ES-333. * Some of Tom's influences have been The Cure, Descendents and Screeching Weasel. * Tom was voted homecoming king, despite being suspended for drinking and not being allowed to run. * Many blame Tom for blink-182's split-up although Tom has defended himself on numerous occasions, citing that "The last thing Mark said to me was, 'If your family is going to be your priority, then you better be able to deal with the consequences'" * Tom has covered both the blink-182 songs, Down and I Miss You with Angels and Airwaves, along with the Box Car Racer song, There Is. * Tom has confirmed that one of the reasons he chose to play 'Down' and 'I Miss You' with AVA is because he felt very proud of those songs and that he would have a hard time letting them go. * Tom has been known to break into tears during the 'I Miss You' cover.
